I would have said it sooner, but my computer is... Not dead, but dying. The battery is bad, and now my power pack isn't really staying charged. XD I'm on my mom's computer, and my phone is pretty much my only other source of electronic communication (But my mom is in college, so I may not be spending much time on the internet with her laptop...), SO, I'm kinda saving for a computer.... XD Thankfully, I just got my external hard drive and most everything is backed up. Additionally, I also take care of a friend's dogs on occasion and they pay extremely well... hopefully getting a laptop won't take too long. Razz

That's lame about your computer! But good about saving for a laptop!! I've always heard there are some pretty decent ones for not /too/ incredibly much, so I'm sure you're not all that far away! Very Happy

My sister has a bit of the same problem. Her battery is shot and only works for a few minutes when it's off the charger. But, because of this, I do have two tips for you:

If somehow you can't use your mom's computer anymore and unless your charger doesn't work (or if it's using too much electricity), I'd suggest that you leave your laptop on the charger at all times and only use it when it's on the charger. Sure, it's inconvenient, but it'll work at prolonging the lifespan of your laptop as you're trying to save up for a new one.

Also, (tip for your next laptop) make sure that when you use the laptop (when it's not on the charger), run the battery down really low (like down to under 20% battery), then charge it back up to full. This way, you don't go through all your battery cycles too quickly by only using your laptop for a short-ish amount of time.

Hope this helps. Even if it doesn't, I hope you get everything fixed soon.

So, I have kind of a random story, but it's really cute so I thought I would share it!

On Monday when I got home there was a stray dog in our garage. I went over to it to get a better look. He was really timid at first but after he came up to me he became really friendly. I was worried because my dog Nike jumps out of the yard a lot and I didn't want her to jump out and chase this dog and end up running off. I called the animal shelter but they were closed and I talked to some of our neighbors but the dog did not belong to any of them. I gave up and went inside, and the dog just sat on our front porch scratching at the door.
I got up Tuesday morning, and he was still there! He loved me so much, I guess XD Then when I got home from school he and Nike were playing in the yard. I found a kennel and was able to get him in and I loaded him into my dad's truck since the kennel would not fit in my car. I hate driving my dad's truck because it is huge, but I made an exception for my dog. I finally got him to the animal shelter and the lady was really nice.

I just thought that was so cute! I can't believe he stayed on my porch that long! He was a really sweet dog. I hope he finds a home!

Aww, that is so sweet. He sounds like a real cutie Smile

When I lived in CA as a kid there was a lot of stay dogs and we would always take care of them, even before I was born my family had a bunch of strays they looked after.

About four years ago I was doing my school when I saw this kitten climbing up the screen of a window. I look out and it's five siblings and mama were on the front porch. The kittens were really small and probably were born about maybe 4-6 weeks before. So we gave the mama food and water, I named her Sassy (which was probably a bad idea XD) she was such a sweet cat her kitten's though were terrors, they didn't like me so much XD But I will never forget when Sassy was sitting on out back porch in front of the door and one of her kittens I named Bear was nursing, it was the cutest sight ever. We called the shelter twice and like you DSK they were closed the first time, but finally they came and picked them up. I still think about them to this day and wish I knew how they turned out and hope the got good and loving homes ^_^

Awwww yay for sweet animals ;www;

When we lived in France, our neighbors had a lot of cats apparently, and several times a couple of them would come in our yard. One of them we named Chocolate Sauce (we weren't aware until later that it was the neighbor's) and it came by almost every day and we'd pet it and stuff. ONE TIME THOUGH, we left our garage open by accident and it came into our house. Like all the way into our house, my little brother woke up with the cat on his bed, meowing XDDD We thought it was our dad meowing, because my dad will do stuff like that xD

Eventually though the neighbors on the OTHER side of us said they found a dead cat and asked if it was ours, which it wasn't. I never saw the cat that died but we never saw Chocolate Sauce again after that, so Razz xD

You guys have all had such cute animals come by your houses! The only memorable experience I can think of was a few years ago which we lived out in the country and there was a ton of wildlife. One night, my dad went into the garage to get something, can't remember what. He came back into the house asking for a flashlight because he thought there was an animal in there and so my mom went to investigate. As it turns out, there wasn't just one animal- there were several. There was an actual family of skunks living in our garage.

My parents had no idea how to get rid of them, but it turned out they didn't have to, because eventually the mom just left the garage and all of her babies followed her. I saw a lot of unusual things growing up out there, but that was one of the strangest!

I love everyone's stories! Smile Cute animals are the best!

Oh gosh SWA! Skunks are the worst! We have them in our yard all the time, though I can never say we've had any in our garage before.

Oh ew, I hate skunks. They're cute, but we have some living under our house right now, and every once in a while we'll wake up to a terrible odor and it's hard to get back to sleep xD Luckily they seem to have gone away. Hopefully. xD

Well, people... we all knew this day was coming. Whether you even liked it or not, you can't deny that this is a... occasion...

Phineas and Ferb has been cancelled.
http://tvline.com/2015/05/07/phineas-and-ferb-cancelled-finale-in-june/

It's half sad / half happy for me (let me explain). I really liked Phineas and Ferb when it first came out and I think it's an accomplishment that it's been on TV for this long (it is the longest-running Disney Channel show ever). However, I'm glad that it's ending because we can finally miss it and we can potentially get even better shows from Disney now that they aren't tied down to P&F

Just something to notice here... after 8 years, Phineas and Ferb is ending; but after 16 years, SpongeBob is still going; and after 14 years, Fairly Odd Parents is still going... something is very wrong here. Count in the fact that both ATLA and LOK together ran for about 5 or 6 years... something is very very very wrong here. Heck, even Kim Possible only ran for about 5 years, and that included sort of a hiatus between when they originally cancelled it and when they brought it back for the last season due to fan-demands! Even the original TMNT show (from the 80s) only ran for 9 years, not even 10! The Flintstones, the first prime-time animated TV series ever, only ran for 6 years!

The only (kid-friendly) animated show I can think of right now that has ran longer than SpongeBob and Fairly Odd Parents and is still running today is Arthur. And even that's getting on my nerves with its serious downgrade in animation and in... everything else.
All of these shows just need to die and then have all of their episodes (at least their early ones) be put on Netflix. That way, we can actually miss those shows and feel all nostalgic for them and then go watch them on Netflix.

Rant over.

P.S. I know that this probably should be in a more TV-related topic, but I didn't know which topic to put it in since P&F isn't my favorite non-SW TV show, nor is it my least favorite, nor is the post solely about Disney nor is it solely about what annoys me.

I'm going to miss it, but it had a nice run and I am happy it is getting a satisfying ending.

I feel pretty fond of P&F because it kept me company on so many late nights when I was working on art projects. Hopefully they will still air late night reruns so I can continue my tradition.

I agree, it is really annoying that lower quality shows like Spongebob are still running and good shows end sooner. I guess part of the thing that makes the good shows so good though is that they didn't overstay their welcome. It is frustrating, however, when a good show gets cancelled and never gets an ending.

I think that a lot of shows were blessed to have a perfect amount of episodes, though. Like ATLA/Korra. As much as I love those shows, they were the perfect length even if they were shorter than most other shows. The writers told the stories they needed to tell, and any more would have been overkill.

That was my only beef with the 2003 TMNT show. It was the best animated show I'd ever seen . . . for the first four seasons. After that it went completely downhill because the network dragged it out for far too long and came up with some really weird ideas to try to keep the show going.

It's all about finding the right length, somewhere between premature cancellation and overstaying the welcome. Thankfully Phineas and Ferb had that balance. It had a good run and I can't wait to relive it with some late night reruns! Smile

Okay, 2 things.
1.) I agree with you mostly. In fact, I think if I could go back in time with unlimited money, I'd pay Nick to end SpongeBob after the original creator (Stephen Hillenburg) left after the 1st movie was supposed to end the show. That way, there would be no "old vs new SpongeBob" and it wouldn't have outstayed its welcome (please leave, SpongeBob!). Not sure about Fairly Odd Parents though.
2.) What I do not agree with is about LOK. (ATLA was perfectly paced in my opinion, so I'm leaving it out of my disagreement). Personally, I felt like every Book/season was rushed since they had fewer episodes per Book due to the fact that Nick only bought/ordered/??? a certain number of episodes. Because of this, I feel like the show suffered; not that it wasn't great, but it suffered. I feel like it couldn't go as deep as ATLA because it had a lot of characters and little time to both develop them and keep the plot/s going. If I could go back with unlimited money, I would personally fund either 3, 4, or possibly even 5 full Books/seasons (plus fund a Titanic load of advertising so people actually knew about upcoming seasons). In my mind, that's plenty of time to develop multiple characters while keeping the plot/s going without overstaying its welcome. TCW did well with 5 seasons, I think LOK could do well as well with that many seasons. Basically, I respectfully disagree with that particular part of what you said. I totally agree with everything else.

I totally get where you're coming from!

Korra's biggest downfall was definitely Nick's scheduling. They should have just told the creators at the beginning "Ok, we want X amount of seasons" and it would have let them tell a much more coherent story instead of having to do a different story each season because they didn't know if the show was coming back or not. If things had worked out differently I would have wanted more seasons too, but with the way it went I was honestly ok with it wrapping up when it did, especially with all of Nick's drama about taking it off the air.

While on the subject of tv shows, has anyone here seen Daredevil? The Walkers are doing vlogs so I really want to watch it. I don't get Netflix instant, though, but I'll probably get it just during the summer so I can catch up on some shows.

Ugh, the way Nick handled/treated LOK is practically unforgivable. Not sure if you know this or not, but in Book 4 (if my memory serves me correctly), Nick decided to cut funding for an entire episode, so that forced Bryke to make a clip show episode in order to fill in the number of episodes that Nick had bought. If I ever go into animation/show creation (which is something I do want to do and am now working towards), I will never work for Nickelodeon. It would have to take a serious change on their part in order for me to ever work for them, because I do not want to ever have to deal with (management-wise) what Bryke had to go through when making LOK.

I haven't yet. I want to, but I've been busy with school lately and when I have time to watch TV, it's either gonna be playing catch-up on my regulars that I've missed throughout the week or Friends when I'm eating lunch or dinner in my room. Plus, I have a bajillion other different shows that people are telling me to watch... ugh... too... many... shows...

That makes me so mad! Yeah, Nick is terrible. First what they did to Invader Zim and then Korra. They really have no idea how to run a show.

I know the feeling! I'm so behind on all of my shows right now, and I have a stack of movies that have been lent to me that I need to watch!
