That sounds like a better idea DSK. Personally I didn't know I would be so busy and I think I'm ahead of you guys anyway by mistake XD

Maybe three or four eps a week?

We could go for 7 a week and see how that works. That would be one a day, and if that is still too much we can change it again.

We could also each just watch at our own pace if we need to.

I'll leave it up to you guys, just whatever works best with your schedules. I know I've been incredibly busy too with my job so I totally understand.

Ugh! I still haven't started! I'm sorry, y'all. I don't think I can do this. Maybe I'll do a rewatch on my own time, but I've either been busy, on vacation, or just not in the mood (yah, yah, I know... how could I not be in the mood for TCW... I dunno...).

It's ok Alli! I totally understand! I've actually been watching it while I do my math homework for my summer class. I always like to have background tv/music on when I do homework, and since I've already seen Clone Wars it doesn't distract me. So haha, I guess you could say I've been multitasking XD But otherwise I would not have been able to find time.

Lucky you! You can multitask well. I can't. For me, I feel like if I'm not giving the episode the majority (if not 100%) of my attention, then I'm not watching (or in this case rewatching) it properly/correctly.

I've been watching with my sisters a lot lately and we've kind of been jumping all over the place and not going in any particular order. Oops. Razz Sometimes I just don't feel like watching them in order and skip around. It's been so interesting watching the animation quality rise as we go through the seasons.

I may attempt to start the rewatch! Very Happy It'd certainly be super fun. I'll probably be able to do it even more in a few weeks cuz my job will be ending, and until I find another one, I'll have more free time XD

I do that a lot, SWA! This time, though, I'm attempting to watch them all in order since I haven't seen a lot of them in a long time. There were actually some I even forgot about!

Yes, Blue, you should join in! Very Happy

You know, if I finally start my rewatch, I might want to try and go in chronological order rather than episode order. I actually forgot that most episodes (up until like season 4 or something) were done out of order and I'd like to see what in-order looks/feels like...

So, SW.com used to have a list of the episodes in chron. order, but I can't find it there anymore. IGN has the same list though, so you know what episodes to watch in what order.

I got to the Mandalore episodes today -- some of my favorites! Very Happy I realized just how much I love Satine's accent. And pretty much everything about her XD But I guess I already knew that.

PostSubject: Re: Clone Wars Rewatch   Thu Jul 16, 2015 12:06 am

So... after weeks and weeks of putting it off, I started rewatching TCW. I am (like I said I would) watching it in chronological order. Today (yes, today), I watched "Cat and Mouse", "Hidden Enemy", TCW movie, "Clone Cadets", "Supply Lines" and "Ambush" (in that order). I think I'm at a place (at least for a little while... I think until I get to Season 2) where I don't have to jump around to continue watching them in chronological order, which is nice.

I feel like even though jumping around is a bit weird (and a tad bit time-consuming) for anyone, I feel like it's especially weird for me since I generally knows what happens already. Although, I do find it nice to see TCW happen chronologically and not be confused on what's happening when...
So basically, I've seen the entire Battle of Christophsis from beginning to end (plus Anakin and Ahsoka meeting and rescuing Jabba's son); the Domino Squad pass their test and graduate... without having to see them come back and fight for Kamino an episode later; and Toydaria join the Republic... after being neutral and trying to send humanitarian help to Ryloth without the Trade Federation finding out. I find it kind of nice that I can just watch a certain event (whether it be an actual event of an arc or something) and then be done with it and not have to go back because they either made it out of order or showed it out of order. Granted, it's not too bad... I mean, I watched it the first time just fine without getting too confused. I'm just glad to see exactly what took place and when it took place in The Clone Wars timeline. Plus, it is nice just to rewatch the series again, no matter what order I watched it in.
Okay, right now, it is way past time for me to get some sleep. I think I might elaborate on other thoughts tomorrow (or technically today since it's past 1 a.m.).

haha wow, that would be weird to watch it out of order if you are so used to how it was shown... I can't believe the movie isn't the first thing

I think it's so cool that you're watching them in that order, Alli! Keep us updated! I might like to do that someday.

PostSubject: Re: Clone Wars Rewatch   Sat Jul 18, 2015 12:07 am

Well, now, I'm about to start the official Ryloth Arc (I watched a number of episodes Thursday when I wasn't doing anything). With the exception of "Hidden Enemy" (01x16), I've basically been watching in release-order since "Ambush" (01x01) and it won't be until after "Children of the Force" (02x03) where things get out of release-order again... um... scratch that, "Hostage Crisis" (01x22) comes after "Evil Plans" (03x08) and Season 3's order is really crazy... ugh... this is gonna take some extra attention to make sure I get the order right (Season 1 tricked me into thinking it was gonna be easy)...

So... so far, it's kinda nice just watching TCW again since I've basically been watching in release-order for a while now. I feel like Season 1 has a different feel to it than (at least from what I remember of) the rest of the series. The animation (especially in the movie) is noticeably... less... good compared to (at least from what I remember of) the rest of the series... which is to be expected since TCW team wasn't as experienced at the time.

That also being said, I do have a tiny problem with some of the writing, particularly, in the Malevolence Arc/Trilogy. All throughout the arc (or at least more than twice in the arc), it felt like Plo Koon and Ahsoka have pretty much the same exchange about Anakin being different and reckless, like they're trying to drill it in that Anakin is not like other Jedi. We don't need that repeated, Dave (or whoever wrote that). We're good on character establishment.

Okay, right now, it is way past time for me to get some sleep. I think I might elaborate on other thoughts tomorrow (or technically today since it's past 1 a.m.).

Like I said before on the watching order, it's not too bad (at least right now)... I'm just glad to see exactly what took place and when it took place in The Clone Wars timeline. Plus, it is nice just to rewatch the series again, no matter what order I watched it in.

I agree, the quality of the writing improved a lot as the show went on. Too bad the show never got to catch up to RotS, or it would have been especially cool to watch in order and see how it ties in with the movies.

I know that Disney declared it non-canon (even though I feel like it ties in with the movies better than TCW...), but I like to think that the Tartakovsky version (the CW micro-series) is included in the CW timeline since it does have events while Anakin is still a padawan and when the attack on Coruscant happens. It actually explains shows why Grievous has that cough in RotS (unlike TCW where he has it for some unknown reason)... as well as reveals both Grievous and Ventress for the first time to the Jedi... which also explains why Anakin became a Jedi shortly after the CW started...

So, basically (if you didn't see my thoughts about this in the "New Unfinished Clone Wars Episodes!" topic), this is the main reason I want to see a "giant comic-book series that (cleverly and naturally) combines the 2003 micro-series, all the episodes from TCW, the un-aired/un-finished stuff that DF and his team made, and some extra stuff (either originally created for the comic series or maybe some stuff from The Clone Wars era part of the EU) all into a single canonical timelined story of what happened between AotC and RotS."
