C'mon, I know at least some of you have got to have read this series. So which was your favorite series she wrote? I've read books from The Last of the Jedi, Jedi Quest, and Jedi Apprentice. My favorite series was Jedi Quest. The one with Anakin. The end book where Darra dies is so sad!

Jude Watson is one of my favorite authors; I love her books and she has somewhat influenced my writing. My favorite series is Jedi Apprentice (love Obi-Wan and Qui-Gon!), followed by Jedi Quest (loved these too, but some of the books were rather depressing). I actually haven't read two of the JA books, hope to get them sometime soon. Last of the Jedi was pretty good...I'd like to reread the first few because I read them before JQ and had no idea who Ferus was. Looking back, I really wish I would have read her books in order, but oh well, at least I got into them. Very Happy

Also enjoyed some of her other SW books; Star Wars Journals (I've read Padme's and Leia's but not Maul's yet), Legacy of the Jedi (yay for young Qui-Gon!), and Secrets of the Jedi (only read the first part--this is on my list to read this year!).

Oooh!!! Jude Watson is so awesome!!!!!!!!! I love her books!!!!! Jedi Quest is my favorite series....closely followed by Jedi Apprentice. They are the first official SW books I read. I loved Legacy of the Jedi and Secrets of the Jedi even though SOTJ made me cry. I like the journals too. I have to still read Darth Maul, but I read Padme, Leia, and Anakin's. (Actually, I'm not sure if she wrote Anakin or Han's...but I read both of them) I really like her books!!!!!!!! Very Happy Great topic!

I liked Darth Maul's journal. Darth Sidous finishes it because...well, you know.

Yeah....I peeked at it in the Library. I read the beginning, a page from the middle, and then the end. So I pretty much got the gist of it!!! Wink

I never read this series....... I got the whole collection for Winter for Christmas, but she told me to return it because she didn't want it. It's only after I returned it she told me she wanted it. *rolls eyes* I never did get her it again though. Razz

I love Jude Watson! And I totally love Jedi Apprentice!!!! Very Happy It's what really got me into Star Wars in the first place... flower I love Jude Watson's writing style; it is very precise and she doesn't use very long words or sentences. But there is so, so, so much emotion and depth packed into her writing. (Sorry, i'm a writing enthusiast. Laughing ) Plus she captures Qui/obi's relationship perfectly. I'm a total fan! cheers

I read "Secrets of the jedi" and " jedi Apprentice", I'm reading "The jedi quest" Very Happy
I like Jude Watson's writing style: simple, claer, but involves the reader in a story plot.

in "Secret of the jedi " i had a different point of view on the Obi-Wan's character an the Siri's character is well characterized.

The couple Obi-Wan/Siri is my favorite, is a pity that there is depth in the clone wars series Crying or Very sad would be very interesting, the Satine's character I was not satisfied... Rolling Eyes

I love Jedi Apprentice, but I dislike Jedi Quest. Obi-Wan is always upset with Anakin, and she makes Anakin an overconfident outsider. Plus, from the beginning of the series, she was talking about the darkness in Anakin. It was there, but I don't think it was noticable until much later.

Yeah... she doesn't like Anakin much... but he's in character, if you're talking about the Hayden-Anakin. Darkness darkness. more darkness, then disappoint Obi-Wan somehow. Only Jude Watson's Anakin has some emotion, at least Razz I kind of like her Anakin though...and her Obi-Wan is just phenomenal!
JUDE WATSON IS THE BEST EVER!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! SHE'S AMAZING!!!!!!!!! Her books are THE best! Very Happy and Secrets of the Jedi is the best of the best. Seriously, no words can describe how good she is! She's my one of my fave authors, as you can see XD I also am in love with Matthew Stover's Revenge of the Sith novelization Smile

I LOVE the ROTS novel!

Heres the thing. In the early books of Jedi Quest, Anakin is displaying way too much darkness for a 12-14 year old. I don't think that would be in character, remember Anakin in TPM? How could he change that much in three years?

Hmm... good point. He shouldn't have been unhappy or anything, but he had issues as a young teen. Maybe it was stressful for him, training to become a Jedi? Or maybe it was being separated from his mom. But really...? How DID he get so dark anyways? Like, what turned him into *shudder* Hayden the Stick?

I personally think Obi-Wan was too hard on him. He had left his mother and everything he knew at nine year old, was introduced to an Order where love wasn't allowed and he didn't get along with many of the students. On top of that, he was expected to train like everyone else.

interesting points of view but honestly when i was reading it anakin seemed in character yes he was only young but he grew up in a life of slavery and leaving his mother behind knowing that kind of life definitly had a huge impact on him.

I do agree that at times obiwan was to harsh with him but keep in mind it was obiwans job to teach him the way of the jedi which meant no emotion teaching that to someone who relied so heavily on them before is not easy he had to change alot about anakin to make him a successful jedi so at times he had to be strict in my opinion

That's interesting about Obi-Wan. I felt that way with the end of The School of Fear, but I don't remember it bothering me about the series as a whole. He may not have really understood how Anakin felt about attachments since he was raised very differently. And like jedigirl said, Anakin needed to work through his emotions and faults to be a good Jedi.

Or maybe I'm just biased and want Obi-Wan to be perfect. XD

I don't have read the complete jedi quest series yet, so i don't express my point of view, but the relationship Master-Padawan between Obi-Wan and Anakin has always been difficult.

I love the obi-Wan's character, he is a great jedi cit."Strong like Master Windu and wise like master yoda", but is a men with the responsibility of training the chosen one...and tries to keep his promise to Qui-Gon.
